Salaberry-de-Valleyfield - A city located approximately 60 km West of Montreal with a population close to 50,000. According to the 2011 Canada Census data, nearly 36% of individuals were bilingual (English and French) while 64% knew French only. The town is a major tourist attraction due to its historic downtown and large bodies of water. It is situated on an island in the Saint Lawrence River that is bordered at its western end by Lake Saint Francis, with the Saint Lawrence to the north and the Beauharnois Canal to its south.

Centre Culturel Islamique de Valleyfield - The CCIV was established in 2009 and registered as a non-profit, charitable organization . The centre holds daily prayers, Friday prayers as well as regular programs for all ages. This includes weekend lessons, social events and youth events. The closest masjid to CCIV is 60 km away and the needs of the Muslim community in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield are growing. The centre is in need of funds to be able to secure and purchase a permanent site for the CCIV.
